Have You Heard of the Village of Slatino?
Slatino is a charming village you can reach via a single
road starting in Izdeglavje and ending in Slatino. As you approach the village,
you'll be greeted by the peaks of the Ilinska Mountain. Nestled in the Debarca
region on the eastern slopes of Ilinska Mountain, the village boasts stunning
natural beauty. Within its boundaries lies Slatino Lake, named after the
village itself. Slatino River also runs through the village, fed by the outflow
of the lake. The village is situated 35 kilometers north of Ohrid and Struga
and 39 kilometers south of Kičevo.
A Rich History
Slatino is home to a monument dedicated to the
revolutionaries of the Ilinden Uprising and the Partisan period. There’s also a
memorial honoring a victim of the massacre at Vejce.
Though small, with just one store, the village has a rich
historical legacy. Many significant figures from the Macedonian renaissance and
the establishment of the Macedonian state were born here.
A Hidden Gem: Slatino Lake
Sadly, Slatino Lake no longer exists due to a broken dam.
However, the area still exudes charm and offers a unique rustic experience for
visitors.

hairdryer, and private parking.
It has two bedrooms, a bathroom, a dining room, and a
