Have you heard of the Krivoshijski Waterfalls, and did you know that they are recommended by Kajak.mk as an active spring destination?

For those who are encountering the term "Krivoshijski Waterfalls" or "Krivoshijski priests" for the first time, we will try to tell you a bit more.

Lovers of Shar Mountain know that Leshnica shines like a diamond in the whole mountain massif. It is full of pristine mountain rivers, waterfalls, dense and lush pine and beech forests, and countless rocky peaks. This is how many describe Leshnica, the valley that hides the Krivoshijski priests.

To reach Leshnica, you must pass through the characteristic landscapes of Shar, where you will find spacious pastures and peaks that reach up to 2000 meters above sea level. Once you've passed them, you will arrive in the valley itself, Leshnica.

Here, you will get to know the Pena River, which is fed by several tributaries originating at the foot of the peaks of Shar Mountain.

These waters, which are tributaries of the Pena, have created several waterfalls, including the Upper Leshnica waterfall, the Krivoshijski Waterfall, and the famous Krivoshijski priests, a phenomenon that creates huge hollows in the rocks.

You can also reach Leshnica by a second route, through the village of Bozovce. This route contains a 12-kilometer-long forest path, but you should know that the ascent can only be done on foot or by horse and takes about two hours.

The team at Kajak.mk recommends visiting this destination exclusively on foot or by bicycle. Be sure to bring trash bags and dispose of your waste in the urban containers.
