The team at Kajak.mk has one and only goal—to bring to light all the local heroes who contribute to Macedonia, who drive the development of the tourism that, unfortunately, is still underrepresented in our country.

It is with great honor and immense joy that we share the story of Doncho Jovanovski and Cutka Jovanoska, who, through joint efforts, are building the story of "Happy Farm."

Behind Happy Farm stand great enthusiasts, advocates of healthy eating, and animal lovers—people of integrity.

The main driving force behind the farm's story is Doncho Jovanovski, an economist by profession, who is also naturally skilled in construction. People say he has a good ear for music and plays the synthesizer and accordion (self-taught). He grew up in an environment that shaped him to define projects with one ultimate direction—healthy food.

He has unwavering and wholehearted support from his sister, Cutka Jovanoska, who is also an enthusiast by nature, a strong advocate for healthy food, and a fighter for an ethical approach to animal care.

Cutka says they receive immense support from their friends and family, without whom this story would not have become a reality.

A particularly significant and interesting moment in their journey was in 2018 when Doncho Jovanovski, like many young people in the country, especially those with an entrepreneurial spirit, sought ways to develop his career. He took two steps—one was applying for a Self-Employment project, and the other was applying for work in Germany. The interesting part is that he succeeded in both. He obtained a work visa for Germany, but he also won the Self-Employment project. Given his entrepreneurial mindset and his studies in enterprise economics, he decided to establish the company "Ekovita-2018," whose name reflects both the year of its founding and an association with healthy food.

The first project of "Ekovita-2018" was the purchase and processing of wild fruits. In 2018, he began purchasing wild mushrooms, which were processed (dried) in a way that retained their nutrients.

Since wild mushrooms are a seasonal business, "Ekovita-2018" has envisioned three additional main projects. Two of them are already on paper—one with a fully developed project plan currently seeking funding sources, and the other is "Happy Farm."

All of their projects follow the same path and lead to the same goal—providing healthy organic food. They believe that every opportunity should be maximized, and Macedonia's key strengths—organic production, human capital, and tourism—should be a priority.

Leaving behind a German work visa and the opportunity to work in a much more developed European country in favor of succeeding in Macedonia is not an easy decision. The second path requires multiplied effort, and the returns are smaller, but they have chosen to take this road, believing in proving that success is possible here too.

"It is not easy at all, especially if you don’t have inherited capital and if you choose to walk the right path. The road to success is much longer," says Cutka. However, she emphasizes that the key driving forces for them are good upbringing, quality education, and a strong work ethic. Everything else will follow, and time will show the results.

In business theory, there is a rule that the character of an entrepreneur defines the character of the enterprise (organization, project, etc.). That’s why everyone who knows them is certain that Happy Farm is built on three key elements: hard work, an enthusiastic approach, and honesty. These three things are enough to ensure the success of such a project.

The location of "Happy Farm" is in the village of Dolno Zrkle, in the Poreče region, Municipality of Makedonski Brod, about fifteen kilometers from Poreče Lake, also known as Kozjak, a favorite spot for people from Skopje.

This location is no coincidence—it is their family’s ancestral home, a connection they have never severed. The Poreče region is a valley named after the river that runs through it. The lower part of Poreče follows the Treska River, while the upper part, including Dolno Zrkle, follows the Mala Reka River. Happy Farm is situated right next to the river, offering a breathtaking natural environment that is difficult to describe in words.

Hilly and mountainous areas are ideal for animal husbandry. The farm operates in accordance with the Animal Welfare Law and has obtained approval from the Food and Veterinary Agency. Regular inspections and product testing are conducted to meet organic production standards.

Kajak.mk notes that no customer has ever remained a one-time buyer—every buyer has turned into a loyal customer. This is thanks to their wonderful friends and the people around them, without whom they would not have succeeded. According to Cutka, this journey has transformed into a happy community, all thanks to what they call the "happy egg."

When asked what makes their story unique, Cutka shared a few key aspects that set them apart.

It all starts with their concept of HAPPINESS—the ultimate desired outcome in every aspect of their work. They genuinely strive to make this a happy story. Their happiness begins with the freedom and traditional way of raising chickens. Their greatest joy comes when the chickens are free, living in an environment that suits their natural instincts. The happiness continues with the healthy eggs they produce, extending further to their consumers. After all, when we are healthy, we have a greater foundation for happiness. That’s why their slogan is: "From happy chickens to happy people."

Their goal is to maintain a fair and honest approach toward all stakeholders, especially consumers. They are committed to ensuring that their customers have complete trust in how their chickens are raised, as this directly affects the quality of the eggs.

Consumers themselves have given different names to their eggs: healthy egg, happy egg, golden egg, organic egg, Poreče egg. Only the first name comes from the farm—the others were earned over time through their commitment to quality.

The chickens’ diet, apart from their natural foraging, includes carefully selected grains…
