"Arabeska" is a small family winery owned by the Stojchev family. It is located in the village of Sopot, 6 kilometers from the town of Kavadarci, in the heart of the Tikvesh region, known for its quality vineyards.
The winery was registered in 2021. All the wine produced comes from their own vineyards. It is made from start to finish by the hardworking hands of the owners, with a lot of love and dedication. The winery is a continuation of the tradition from their ancestors, with grandfather Milan, a graduated agronomist engineer, who selflessly worked to establish quality vineyards by applying new and sophisticated methods in viticulture and winemaking. He was the first in the Sopot area to irrigate the vineyards with a drip irrigation system, contributing to ecology and the rational use of water.
Wine production requires exceptional dedication, time, and energy spent in the vineyard and winery, but the results are outstanding.
Today, Kiril says they are proud of their own wines, and a testament to their quality are last year's Gold Awards for Rkatsiteli and Vranec, as well as the Grand Gold for the Rosé made from the Vranec variety, which they are particularly proud of.
The blend of traditional and modern production methods culminates in the creation of their distinctive wines, made from their own 16-hectare vineyard. In the future, alongside Vranec and Rkatsiteli, they will also add the varieties Rhine Riesling and the renowned Cabernet Sauvignon.
There is an opportunity to taste the wines in the winery's cellar, which has been adapted for this purpose. The experience is unique, as it transports guests back in time due to the authenticity of the cellar and the distinctive architecture of the old Macedonian village house, with its stone walls, wooden beams, and the hearth as the central point of the experience. The capacity, which will allow for an optimal experience, is up to 12 guests, says Kiril.
As for the future plans of this small, prosperous family winery, they include bringing their wines closer to consumers through organized tastings of all types of wines produced. They also plan to build apartments for tourists in the future, as the location itself has immense potential for rural and wine tourism. Guests will not only be offered grapes and wine but also a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere for relaxation under the open sky, with stars and the moon, which, believe me, are truly larger here.
