I Promote the Beauty of Macedonia in Chinese
I Promote the Beauty of Macedonia in Chinese
"I lived in the capital of China for nearly 10 years, and I will be forever grateful for the extraordinary experiences I gained there," says Simona Spirkovska, who is known to us as "the girl who promotes Macedonia in Chinese."
Known for her videos shared on social media, our team couldn't remain indifferent without talking to her and hearing about the motivation behind her work.
"In a way, my goal is to encourage the Chinese to explore more about Macedonia," says Simona. "This way, I would promote cooperation and the development of tourism in Macedonia, particularly when it comes to Chinese tourists."
The videos are also noticed by people who have visited Macedonia and with whom she is in constant communication for future collaboration.
The Chinese who have visited Macedonia have positive impressions of our culture, tradition, and natural beauty," adds Spirkovska. "They are amazed by the food, good weather, and clean air."
The Chinese who have tried the red eggplant picked from the garden still remember its taste," says Simona. "Our eggplant reminds them of the taste of Chinese eggplant from the sixties. For them, pork is much cheaper in Macedonia, and all other meats are very tasty.
It’s interesting that they can't distinguish between the larger and smaller cities in Macedonia. For example, to them, Skopje and Prilep are the same. However, they love the cities, the harmony among the people, and the fact that family values are highly regarded.
Simona lived in Beijing for almost 10 years, where she learned the language and completed both her undergraduate and graduate studies. She had the opportunity to work and learn how life functions in China.
For her, China is a second home, and she hopes that the connection between Macedonia and China will continue to grow. China is a country with many values and cultural treasures. Upon her return to Macedonia, she also offers Chinese language lessons to anyone interested in learning.
