Kayaking Tours along Crni Drim, authentic experience that offers tons of knowledge about this river

Kayaking Tours along Crni Drim, authentic experience that offers tons of knowledge about this river

This season’s active tourism is officially open. That is being confirmed from our talk with the local hero from Struga. His name is Kosta Hiohi.

Perhaps, you remember Kosta from last year’s story. He spoke for Kajak.mk and he introduced us to his water experience, the animals, and what kind of ambitions he has for development and promotion of Crni Drim, as an ideal active tourism destination.

Today, we want to inform you that you can get in touch with Kosta, directly from here through our database “KADE OVDE” or you can just click HERE.

For those of you, who will get in touch with Kosta, we are sure that you will meet the beauty of the region Struga.

Part of his life, Kosta has passed in Romania, where he studies at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports with a degree in water sports such as kayak, canoe, sailing and rowing.

Today, he is passing his experience to all the tourists who want to kayak river Crni Drim.

Kosta’s sports organization Solaris from Struga, exists since 2009. It was firstly formed by the initiative of a couple of enthusiasts, nature lovers and outdoor sports activities. The purpose of establishing this club was for confirming the potential that this city has in regards to sports tourism. As well as sharing wonderful moments in nature with people that don’t want to sport, but just enjoy nature itself.

Crni Drim/ Black Drim is a beautiful river that captivates with its beauty. The river that passes through the city is completely different when we are outside of the city. Kosta says: “Suddenly you are in a harsh environment created by nature, that gives you an impression like you are in a rainforest. The kayaking tour passes by the villages of Vranishta, Lozani, Dabovjani, Tashmarunishta, the Locality of Tesnec, Bigor and all the way to the village of Globocica.” What is especially interesting is that the tour passes over the sunken village Globocica, which in 1963 was completely sunken due to the construction of the power plant by the same name. Another addition this tour gets to explore is the beautiful flora and fauna, and specific species that have disappeared from the city with the process of land reclamation, such as: herons, cormorants, otters, river turtles and similar.

Their eco activities are really often and they are doing it out of their good will.
