Demir Hisar is a small town, but it is home to people with big hearts for welcoming new guests. One of them is Aleksandra, a woman who tells the story of life in the village through her unique homemade winter preserves.

She has been cooking for many years, and her dedication to perfecting her craft motivated her to expand her horizons and offer something that would attract more guests to her hometown. For the past three years, she has been an active member of "Slow Food." In addition to preparing winter preserves, her work has also developed in another direction, involving the process of growing products in her garden, their preparation, and the final product.

She calls her story "Moja Bavcha" (My Garden), which is the main guiding principle behind building new successes. Her journey spans around 7 years.

She started by preparing winter preserves in small quantities for family, friends, and acquaintances. The support she received from her family and the need for a job that would bring her financial stability motivated her to invest more in her story. Whether she prepares preserves for herself or her friends, Lozanovska emphasizes that she makes them as if for her own children.

The ideology of "Moja Bavcha" is to encourage people to eat as many homemade products as possible, such as healthy and organic food, natural teas, and juices.

"When I say homemade, I mean vegetables and fruits grown at home, herbs, and spices that don't contain pesticides, watered with clean underground waters, and cultivated in healthy, rich, and fertile soil," she says.

Aleksandra has gained experience with foreign tourists, who are mostly fascinated by the nature and food she serves. Tourists are thrilled when they walk through the garden, and depending on the season, they can pick fresh fruits, which they can later enjoy.

For her, this concept of work reflects the tradition, history, and daily life of the people in Demir Hisar.

The highest interest for visits is during autumn, when the scent of freshly prepared preserves fills the garden.

To accommodate all visitors, Lozanovska has prepared a program that typically lasts from three to four hours. It begins at 8 AM, when the group visits the garden, located 5 kilometers from the family house. Here, guests have the chance to learn about how the fruits and vegetables are grown, and if they wish, they can pick the produce themselves.

For those who can't visit the garden, Aleksandra says there is always a second option—a mini garden located in her house's yard, where she finds peace when she's not working.

The main part of the gathering takes place in her yard, where guests are welcomed with fresh homemade drinks. During the session, Aleksandra presents several photos related to the process of processing, harvesting, and preparing the food served on the table.

An interesting fact is that guests show great interest in tobacco, its cultivation, harvesting, and cigarette production, which they can even try, adds the hostess.

What makes the guests happiest and most satisfied is that they leave with full stomachs. This gastronomic experience, which includes tasting fresh salads, cheeses, fruits, as well as homemade pastries, bread, and green pie baked in the oven along with homemade drinks, is another reason why you should visit Aleksandra's garden.
