Driving towards the village of Kalište, just four kilometers from the main Tetovo-Gostivar highway, we decided to make a stop at a new gastronomic destination that is now part of the Kajak.mk network and should be a must-visit spot during the summer season.

Those who frequently travel towards the village of Negotino are already familiar with the history and story of this unique hospitality venue, managed by Mr. Hesat Aliu.
Hesat shared the story of the restaurant’s inception, the history of the stone used in its construction, and the spirit that has grown over the years, fueled by the hard work and love that Hesat and his family have invested here.
More than 20 years of hard work went into building the road, each column, and the roof of the venue, so that in 2020, the facility could officially open its doors.
They managed to survive the pandemic, face closed borders, restrictions, and limited movement, and today, Hesat says that the "Bastion" is starting to experience its best days, and he hopes that this trend will continue to grow.
Before the restaurant was formally opened, Hesat and his family had been hosting guests in an apartment on the premises. They would often gather at the location and organize excursions in nature. He remembers the first group of foreign tourists who arrived in 2017 and stayed in their apartment. Since then, they have hosted guests from Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, and many other countries. According to him, the guests were a sign that this excursion spot has great potential in promoting and developing rural tourism.
His family has more than 50 years of work experience in the tourism industry in the Republic of Croatia, and they decided to bring that experience to Macedonia.
The name "Bastion of Ramanovi" comes from Hesat's grandfather, a story worth hearing in person. Today, the venue is enhanced by a beautiful stone courtyard and a main building with unique architecture. It is built from local stone, featuring an ultra-modern design that preserves traditional elements, giving the venue its character. Situated at 700 meters above sea level, the location offers fresh and healing air, which Hesat describes as very beneficial.
For our travelers who choose to visit this hospitality venue, they should try specialties such as cold and hot appetizers made from local ingredients, like the spicy Šarki cheese from Novo Selo and regular cheese with truffles. Another "fatal" combination is the beef from surrounding areas with truffles.
When you arrive here, you will see why foreign tourists comment that this place is a true Swiss fairy tale of Shar Mountain.
