Departure from Skopje in the early hours.
Gevgelija is a small town in southern Macedonia, known for its strategic location near the border with Greece. It serves as an important trading and transportation hub. The town enjoys a pleasant climate and is an excellent place for rest and relaxation. In recent years, Gevgelija has also developed as a tourist destination, attracting visitors from various regions.
During the tour, we will visit:
National Museum - Gevgelija The National Museum of Gevgelija, founded in 2003, is dedicated to preserving and presenting archaeological, historical, ethnological, and artistic collections. The museum is located in a building known as the Vladov Konak.
City Center
Goce Delchev National Library The Goce Delchev National Library in Gevgelija was founded in 1945 and now holds over 70,000 books, 1,000 volumes of newspapers and magazines, and rare books, including an original copy of "Ogledalo" by Kiril Pejchinovic, published in 1816. The library building was constructed in 1912.
Monument to Freedom The "Freedom" Monument in Gevgelija is located on Mrzenski Hill as a symbol of liberty and courage. Created by sculptor Jordan Grabulovski, the monument was initially placed on Vardar Hill and served as a gathering point for the local population. After archaeological research on the hill, the monument was relocated to its current location.
Vardar Hill Vardar Hill is an archaeological site near Gevgelija, known for the remains of an ancient city. The site includes the acropolis and other significant structures that testify to its historical importance. The location is crucial for studying early antiquity, and numerous artifacts found here are exhibited in the Gevgelija Museum.
After exploring the town, we will head toward Smrdliva Voda.
"Smrdliva Voda" is a tourist spot near Gevgelija, famous for its mineral water with healing properties for stomach and kidney ailments. Located at an altitude of 712 meters, in the area of the village of Konsko, this place attracts visitors with its medicinal water and fresh mountain air. There are also trails suitable for hiking, and the natural surroundings feature oak and beech forests.

In the village of Mrzenci, we will enjoy a delicious lunch before heading back to Skopje.
