Exploring Pelister National Park
Pelister National Park, located near Bitola, is one of the
most significant nature reserves in North Macedonia. The park encompasses the
Pelister and Baba mountains and is renowned for its unique flora and fauna,
including rare plant and animal species. It is home to the Molika pine forest
and other relict species. Pelister Peak (2,601 m) offers breathtaking panoramic
views of the surroundings. The park is also rich in historical and cultural
heritage, with various monuments and monasteries.
Local Experience in Malovište Village
Malovište is a picturesque village in the heart of Pelister
National Park, near Bitola. Known for its traditional architecture, cobbled
streets, and rich history, it is the only inhabited settlement within the park.
Surrounded by dense forests and mountain landscapes, Malovište is a perfect
destination for nature lovers and adventurers. One of the village’s most
significant landmarks is the 19th-century Church of St. Petka, which attracts
many visitors.
During our visit, we will immerse ourselves in the local way
of life, hear stories about traditions, and experience local cuisine and
crafts.
The tour concludes with a return to Skopje in the late
afternoon.
