Prilep's Wine Excellence: Our Ambition to Shine

Prilep's Wine Excellence: Our Ambition to Shine

Many of the comments from guests who have visited us are based on how a winery in Prilep can produce such high-quality wine, says Ilija, the person who told us the story of Pirgan Winery.

Pirgan is a business that has been thriving since 2001, founded by Zlatko Pirganoski, a man known in Prilep for his business ambitions as well as his passion and desire to produce good and high-quality wine.

Ilija says that the idea of opening the winery started in 1999, with the official launch marked in 2001 when the winery was registered.

The wines produced by 'Pirgan' can be tasted at their winery, which today is part of the 'Gastronomia' base on Kajak.mk. Ilija says that the most famous wines are 'Vranec,' which has 16% alcohol, and 'Chardonnay,' which has 15% alcohol, and he also adds 'Merlot' and 'Cabernet,' which are produced in limited quantities.

Pirganoski says that Prilep is an atypical town for a winery, because when a winery is mentioned, people usually associate it with the Tikveš region, which is why there are such positive impressions from guests who have visited and tasted their wine.

Their primary production is focused on wines made from the varieties Vranec, Cabernet, Merlot, Chardonnay, Temjanika, and Smederevka. According to Ilija, the most important thing for them is to offer beautiful and high-quality wine, which is why they invest in technology to elevate the winemaking process to a higher level and better quality. In addition to wine, they also produce strong spirits such as rakija, tequila, vodka, mastika, uzo, brandy, and liqueurs.

For those interested in visiting the winery, it is located at the exit of Prilep on the road to Makedonski Brod.
