Fly Fishing Macedonia: Must-Do Tours Across the Country
Although listed under the Bitola region, Fly Fishing Macedonia organises tours at multiple locations throughout Macedonia, most commonly in the western part of the country. If you would like more information and a specific price, you need to send a request by selecting the date on which you would like to take part in a tour. Once you submit your request, you will receive a response within the same day.
Included in price:
- Prices vary significantly depending on the size of the group; if the group consists of one person, then that person needs to cover the full cost of the tour, while if there are two people, the price drops drastically, since most of the costs—such as transport and the guide—are shared among more people.

The team currently consists of five members: four professional fly-fishing anglers and one manager.
By booking one of these tours, guests not only get to explore the natural beauty of Macedonia, but also encounter our endemic subspecies of brown trout (Salmo trutta). Catching them is a true challenge, and we strictly follow the catch-and-release principle—after a quick photo, all fish are safely returned to the water.
To start, the tours will take place on our rivers and most of our glacial lakes, which remain clean and rich in fish. While the main focus is Macedonia, future plans include tours along some tributaries of the Black Drin River in Albania.
Although most professional fly-fishers prefer to bring their own gear, we offer equipment for rent—except for wading pants and wading shoes. We also provide beginner-friendly training in the form of field workshops, especially aimed at younger participants (though open to all ages).
Each guide can lead a maximum of 3 participants per tour, to ensure professional, personalized attention and increase everyone’s chances of a successful catch—because let’s face it, everyone hopes to reel in at least one fish! On glacial lakes, more people per guide are allowed.
