Located at an altitude of 1,250 meters above sea level,
Krushevo is the highest town in Macedonia. Known as the "City of Heroes
and Legends," it is the birthplace of several iconic figures in Macedonian
history and culture, including singer Toše Proeski, painter Nikola Martinovski,
and revolutionaries Nikola Karev and Pitu Guli.
Krushevo holds significant historical importance as the site
of the Ilinden Uprising (St. Elijah), a pivotal revolution against the Ottoman
Empire on August 2, 1903. During our tour, you'll visit key landmarks such as
the Makedonium, Meckin Kamen, and the memorial house of Toše Proeski, the
beloved national hero who tragically passed away in a car accident in 2007.
