Rent the 10-acre ranch by Berovo Lake: Perfect for an escape!

Rent the 10-acre ranch by Berovo Lake: Perfect for an escape!

The Kajak.mk team listens to and shares new stories every day about the people and places they call home. Traditions, legends, myths, and the truth are what keep tourism alive. Over the past months, we have discovered and promoted many new places and many new people who will transform tourism in 2021.

Soon, we will expand our database to include travel and accommodation options in neighboring Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia, and Albania. Until then, we can only hope that the pandemic will soon release us from its grip.

Considering that there are still places and people in Macedonia you haven’t heard of yet, our team is committed to digging as deep as possible to find all those who deserve to be part of Macedonia’s tourism map.

Today we spoke with Slavcho from Berovo, the owner of the “Feta” ranch, which you can privately rent and stay at for as long as you wish.

Our first question was: why a ranch? And immediately after, why the name “Feta”?

His property carries the title of a ranch because the yard and the fenced land around the villa cover more than 10 decares (approximately 10,000 square meters). Slavcho says that you can truly feel the peace in the yard — the silence, the fresh oxygen, and the sounds of nature. According to him, this is the main factor that puts Berovo on the tourist map.

The villa is named "Feta." If the first thing that comes to your mind is the well-known cheese, you’re not mistaken. According to local legends, feta cheese, as Slavcho explains, has its roots in this region. The story goes that during the Ottoman Empire, near Berovo Lake, lived a Turkish woman. She found a wounded soldier who served some European country. Instead of killing him, she began to heal him using sheep’s skin. When the soldier was fully recovered, she let him return home — but not empty-handed; she gave him cheese starter culture. From that starter, the first feta cheese was made. That’s why Slavcho named his villa "Feta."

The villa features a spacious yard, a balcony, and a kids’ play corner in the garden. It offers private parking and is fully equipped and renovated to meet guests’ needs. This villa is ideal for families who want to take their children for walks in nature.
