Promoting the Beauty of Kavadarci Through My Lens

Promoting the Beauty of Kavadarci Through My Lens

In Macedonia, you will meet many photographers who selflessly share their works on social media, and some of these photographers are true promoters of tourism in the country, as they represent the team at Kajak.mk.

At Kajak, we believe that a good story and a great photograph are the main drivers of tourism in a country, and this is also affirmed by Riste Stamadjiev from Kavadarci, whose photographs are part of the municipality's calendar, created to promote the beauty of Kavadarci and its surroundings.

Tomorrow (07.09), starting at 18:00, Riste will have his art exhibition at the 'Gallery' Museum in Kavadarci. In anticipation of the exhibition, we had a casual chat with him.

Riste says that his love for photography has always been present, but it was hidden within him. The first sign that the photos he took were beautiful came from the positive feedback from his close friends and acquaintances, which motivated him to start pursuing photography professionally.

Today, Riste creates photographs that are worth a thousand words. He has his own equipment, a professional camera, and a strong initiative to photograph the beautiful landscapes of Kavadarci and its surroundings.

He describes Kavadarci and Tikveshija as a beautiful region that inspires in every way. It is a wonderful place to live, rich with landmarks that are not only significant for this area but also for Macedonian history, culture, and tradition, which, according to him, are the main reasons that inspire him.

Riste says that his home is Kavadarci, and he would never change it. But it's not just the city—it's the entire region, starting with Tikvesh Lake, which is featured in his photographs, as well as the fan group 'Lozari,' through which he fell in love with 'ultras culture and way of life.'

When it comes to his favorite spots and locations for photography, Riste highlights 'Tikvesh Lake,' which, according to him, is number one on the list. Especially the sunsets and sunrises, which are magical. There are also the wineries, the Mihajlovo resort on Mount Kozuv, Moklishte, and the city park, which is the largest park in Macedonia and is on several levels, as well as the Kosturnica monument, from where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the entire city.

In anticipation of tomorrow's exhibition, Riste says the date was chosen symbolically, as on September 7, 1944, Kavadarci was liberated, and that date holds great significance for him. The exhibition will feature around 40 photographs from various locations throughout Kavadarci.
