Have You Heard of Lake Edinak in Macedonia?

The goal of Kajak.mk is to introduce new generations to all the destinations in Macedonia that deserve to be visited during free weekends. If you choose what to be in life, be adventurers! This will help you stay active during your weekends, learn a lot about Macedonia, and meet many new local residents who have dedicated their lives to the development of local tourism.

Today, we would like to take you on a walk through the village of Vojnica, which we are sure many of you haven't heard of yet. The village is located in the heart of Macedonia, and it is accessible by an asphalt road that is 17 kilometers long from the city of Veles. However, keep in mind that the journey to the village and to Lake Ediak is a true adventure.

The village of Vojnica is located in the Klepa region, at an altitude of 300 meters, on the eastern border of the municipality of Čashka. Here, you can find the Babuna River, and the village is home to several significant memorials that add historical weight to the area.

During World War II, the Twelfth Macedonian Brigade was formed in the village, and among the partisans was the revolutionary Kole Nedelkovski.

Today, in the village, you can find the memorial house of this great Macedonian poet and revolutionary, which tells the story of the struggle of the Macedonian people. Alongside the memorial house, you will also find the main village church, "St. Athanasius," which was declared a cultural heritage of Macedonia in 1953 due to the architecture of the building and the unique craftsmanship of the icons and frescoes, which are the work of an unknown artist.

Not far from the village, you will find the Ethno House Ediak, which has its own pond where fish are kept and raised. The restaurant operates during the spring, summer, and early autumn. Starting today, Ethno House Ediak is our new gastro destination. For contact information and more details about the exact location, you can find it with just one click HERE.
