Gold Medal Winner for Our Vranec Wine in 2019

Gold Medal Winner for Our Vranec Wine in 2019

In the future, the team at Kajak.mk wants to focus on the representation of women in the wine and viticulture world, as we meet new local women every day who are invested in producing new flavors of Macedonian wine. Recently, we wrote about Venera, the woman who opened her small family winery and continued her father's tradition in Gevgelija.

Today, we have an identical story, except that instead of Gevgelija, we are moving to Krivolak, where the story is told by Silvana.

We are happy to introduce you to Silvana, the woman behind the Negotino brand "Cvetanović," who, together with her husband Lazar, decided to take the bold step of officially stamping the brand and proving to domestic consumers that small family wineries know how to produce quality Macedonian wine.

You can purchase wine from the Cvetanović winery directly from the Kajak.mk shop. Every bottle purchased is support for this small family winery.

Silvana explains that the history of the winery dates back to their grandfather and father, who were involved in viticulture and produced wine and rakija for their own enjoyment. The main reason they decided to develop the story of "Cvetanović Winery" was the award won for Vranec in 2019.

They were officially registered in 2020 as the family winery "Cvetanovikj Winery." Today, they produce four types of wine: Vranec, Rhein Riesling, Temjanika, and Smederevka. Proud of their wines, Silvana says that they won't stop with production and innovation here.

The wine is produced from their own vineyard plantations, which cover an area of 2 hectares at an altitude of 150-200 meters. These vineyards are located in Krivolak-Negotino, where the winery itself is also stationed. The winery has a capacity of 2,500 liters, with the potential to expand to 5,000 liters.

Silvana says they have plans to increase production with new wine varieties, but until then, you can enjoy tasting the current ones they produce.
