A Family from Berovo Has Been Crafting Natural “Remedies” from the Gifts of the Maleševo Mountains for Years

This journey began to take shape in 2015, when Metodi Biljarski decided to turn his love for nature into a life mission: creating healthy, locally made products suitable for people of all ages.

What is now known as the Biljarski brand started with a single product—pine syrup. Inspired by traditional recipes that had been passed down for generations as a natural remedy for respiratory health and immune support, this product became the foundation upon which Metodi gradually built the brand.

“I never saw this simply as a business. For us, it’s a family story and a way to preserve the traditions and nature that surround us,” says Metodi Biljarski.

Today, the entire family stands behind the brand—Metodi, his wife, and their children—each actively involved in every stage of production.

“We started with the idea of creating something natural and beneficial for people. The response from our customers showed us we were on the right path,” Metodi explains.

The Biljarski family operates in the Maleševo region, with its base in Berovo, a town known for its clean air, untouched nature, and abundance of medicinal herbs and forest fruits. Production and sales take place at four locations in Berovo, while their products are available throughout Macedonia through partners and online sales.

Today, the Biljarski range includes natural syrups, jams and sweet preserves made from forest fruits, honey and honey products, natural cocktails, and herbal remedies—all crafted from carefully selected ingredients gathered in the Maleševo mountains.

For the younger generation in the family, the story is a continuation of tradition.

“We grew up with this. From an early age we were part of the process—from gathering fruits in the mountains to preparing the products. For us, it’s important to preserve that family spirit and the quality people recognize us for,” says Bojan Biljarski.

And that is precisely what sets them apart. At a time when production is often industrialized and impersonal, every Biljarski product still passes through the hands of the family.
