Exploring Macedonia to Learn Valuable Lessons and Share Them with the World

Exploring Macedonia to Learn Valuable Lessons and Share Them with the World

Good Monday morning! Today, our team introduces you to Bile and Sasho, who are simply lovers of what everyone should respect and cherish — nature.

Proof that we all learn and change habits while we’re alive is the story of this married couple, who, over the past 10 years, have learned a lot about the beauties of nature and the positive side of traveling.

Their steps over the past two years can be followed online. On their Facebook page, Instagram profile, and YouTube channel 'Travel and Enjoy & Nedogledija.'

Bile, with whom we managed to get in touch, says that about twenty years ago, they started walking more intensively around Macedonia, the surrounding countries, and not just for annual vacations, but using every weekend and any free time to wander. They were surprised by the beauty of nature and all that our country has to offer.

As she says, they realized that Macedonia is not just mountains and lakes, but also waterfalls, caves, strange geological formations, beautiful artificial lakes, charming villages, countless historical sites, archaeological finds, and much more.

Bile says that their friends encouraged them to create social media profiles where they could share all the photos and videos of the beauties of Macedonia. They created a Facebook page, YouTube, and Instagram profiles named 'Travel and Enjoy & Nedogledija.' The name itself reflects their aspiration towards infinity in every field, something that drives them forward.

Throughout the conversation, they highlighted many places they recommend visiting. We are familiar with the Stone Dolls in Kratovo, but few have heard of other such formations like the Devil's Wall, Bogoslovec, the Kamnik Canyon, the lithothems in Stracin, and the stone balls in Gorno Kratovo.

When asked to choose their three favorite villages in Macedonia, they selected three groups of villages worth visiting. Here they are:

The Ovcepolje hillside villages. Beautiful architecture of rural houses, wide views from the verandas, and endless fields of wheat, sunflowers, and other crops. In this group, they highlight the villages of Malino and Pavleshenci.

Mariovo villages – The abandonment of this area has preserved the villages from the past century, making it, in a way, an open-air museum. Combined with the characteristic rocky hillside landscape, cut by the flow of small rivers, it offers a beautiful sense of peace, tranquility, and connection with nature. In this group, they highlight the villages of Zovic, Stavitza, Beshishte, Polchishte, and Manastir.

Villages in the AZOT region – Veles! Clean air, greenery, beautiful old houses with a touch of old-town architecture, and a rich cultural tradition. Here, they emphasize the villages of Teovo, Bogomila, Nezhilovo, and Papradishte.

For them, the villages are a treasure in Macedonia. Each region tells a different story. They offer great potential for rural tourism, mountain tourism, hillside and mountain biking, monastery tourism, and the preparation of healthy, traditional food, but there is still much work to be done for their promotion.

Bile advises to protect nature and not to litter. She also suggests that you should visit a destination more than once, as there is always something new to discover.
