Did You Know Fish Flying Tours Are Available in Macedonia?
For the first time and exclusively on Kajak.mk, we are excited to inform you that the unique trend of Fish Flying Tours has now arrived in Macedonia. A movement that is popular in Slovenia and Croatia, which helps protect rivers and ecosystems, is finally available in Macedonia.
The team at Kajak.mk is thrilled to add these Fish Flying Tours to our database of tourist attractions, and we don’t want to hear anyone say there are no new and unique experiences to enjoy in Macedonia.
“Whether you're catching wild trout in remote mountain rivers or calmly casting flies in crystal-clear waters, these fly fishing tours are designed for everyone—from beginners to experienced anglers,” say the organizers.
You can reserve your tour with just one click HERE.

Fish Flying Macedonia says they are familiar with almost all the rivers, seasons, and secret spots. They specialize in creating personalized tours based on your preferences, pace, and passion. As they put it, "Tell us what you want – and we’ll prepare a fly fishing adventure that suits you perfectly."
The team at Kajak.mk had a conversation with Fish Flying Macedonia to learn more about the idea and initiative behind organizing such tours in Macedonia.

They responded that the initiative to establish this project initially stemmed from the collective neglect and misuse of our rivers and glacial lakes, which are abundant in Macedonia but among the most endangered in the Balkans. In recent years, we have witnessed significant reforms in neighboring countries like Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, and Montenegro, which have found ways to protect their rivers while also preserving the ecosystems and biodiversity around them. Essentially, the motivation behind Fish Flying Macedonia’s decision to launch this club is not only to offer fishing tours but also to educate the younger generation and raise awareness about the importance of our natural resources and how to use them more sustainably.

The team at Fish Flying Macedonia currently consists of 5 members, including 4 professional anglers (fly fishers) and one manager.
People who book this attraction not only get the chance to experience the Macedonian nature, but they will also encounter our endemic subspecies of brown trout (Salmo trutta). Catching these trout is a true challenge, and we strictly follow the catch-and-release principle—meaning all caught fish are returned to the water after being photographed.
The tours will initially take place on our rivers and most of the glacial lakes, which are still clean and rich in fish stocks. Generally, they will be within Macedonia, and in the future, they will also extend to several tributaries of the Black Drim River in Albania.
