Active Weekend at Pelister with Sparkasse Bank

Active Weekend at Pelister with Sparkasse Bank

November is the month when we should take advantage of the free sunny days for outdoor activities or to walk to some unique destinations in Macedonia.

In the next few days, we will share interesting tips with you about where to take weekend walks and recharge your batteries for the new workweek. Last weekend, we visited five destinations across the country together with the employees of Sparkasse Bank.

We had the opportunity to organize a unique weekend for the employees of Sparkasse Bank, who proved to be true enthusiasts in the steps they took and the pace they maintained during the tours.

What makes us happiest is the fact that Sparkasse has proven to be a responsible company that decided to support our local heroes who do small things of great importance for the development of tourism in Macedonia. We are also glad that a company like Sparkasse understands the need to organize outdoor activities for its employees, encouraging them through such events to stay physically active in nature.

The first of the five destinations is Pelister. We recommend the national park in November to all lovers of autumn idyll, as well as to those interested in learning more from a historical perspective.

The tour was led by our local guide Rubin, who shared many interesting facts about the national park with the group. We had the opportunity to enjoy the historical-educational mountain trail “First World War.”

In Pelister National Park, there are several marked hiking trails that offer attractive and adventurous experiences for walking and mountaineering. A walk along the historical-educational trail through the picturesque nature of Pelister National Park is a great experience for the team and an excellent opportunity for visitors to learn more about the First World War.

The trail starts at the Info Center in Pelister, which also houses a museum exhibit about the First World War and the flora and fauna of the National Park. The trail ends near Hotel Molika. It is well-marked, with many resting spots, a lookout point, and informative educational panels along the way.

After completing the hiking tour, the group visited the home of one of our heroines from the Bitola region, where they had the opportunity to taste specialties that offer a mix of authentic flavors prepared by La Sandra.

Sandra from Bitola is a woman who preserves Macedonian gastronomic heritage, preparing specialties in a traditional-modern way. We say that Sandra is the Macedonian Ana Roš. In her yard, you can feel Macedonian hospitality, and the food will take you on a journey through time.

Locally produced food, homemade liqueurs, and punch—this was just part of the menu prepared by our heroine.
