Our latest recommendation for a unique and unusual getaway
is “Leonov Dvor,” a delightful gastronomic destination located in the village
of Kuratica. This spot is perfect for family walks, team-building excursions,
and relaxing stays.
If you're visiting Kuratica for the first time, you'll find
it situated 20 kilometers northeast of Ohrid, just 5 kilometers from the
Ohrid-Resen road. The village boasts beautiful landscapes, and the locals take
great pride in the nearby Mazatar mountain range, where you can enjoy
breathtaking views of both Lake Ohrid and Lake Prespa. Positioned at an
altitude of 1,080 meters, Kuratica has successfully preserved its authentic
traditions and remains in harmony with nature.
At the heart of the village is Leonov Dvor, a gastronomic
destination that provides an excellent opportunity to escape the city's hustle
and bustle and indulge in traditional cuisine, with options like leisurely
walks with donkeys.
Leonov Dvor can accommodate up to 50 guests, offering a
chance to taste local specialties such as đomleze, komat, pitulici, kachamak,
and bakrdanik.
Gjomleze is a traditional dish prepared under a lid, passed
down through generations from skilled masters to dedicated apprentices.
Komat is a rolled and wrapped dish baked under a lid, giving
it a unique flavor derived from its special preparation method.
Pitulici are an old Macedonian specialty perfected by the
chefs at Leonov Dvor. This dish is simple yet delicious, made with just flour,
oil, salt, water, and cheese.
Kachamak and bakrdanik are traditional Macedonian dishes
made with corn flour. They can be prepared with cheese, ham, or cracklings, and
pair wonderfully with sheep's sour milk.
