Weekend Destination Suggestion: Village Zrnovci and Restaurant Aminta

If anyone ever asks you what the colors of Macedonia look like through food, it's your turn to show them these photos we are sharing in the context of Restaurant Aminta.

For those who haven’t heard of the village of Zrnovci, the team at Kajak.mk advises adding this beautiful little village to your list of must-visit gastro destinations. Especially for true food lovers, who will experience Restaurant Aminta as their gastronomic paradise.

The village of Zrnovci is located at the foot of Mount Plačkova, which provides it with clean water and rivers throughout the year. It is 8 kilometers from Kočani or 104 kilometers from Skopje.

The region is ideal for active tourism, with many landmarks to visit before heading to the restaurant itself.

Kajak.mk suggests the following individual program for you to enjoy the fresh air and recharge your batteries for the work week:

Start your day with a visit to the village of Morodvis, located at the foot of Mount Plačkova, just 2 kilometers from Zrnovci. Here, you’ll find the Church of Morobizdon, a complex of late antique and medieval sites. The village has around 300 inhabitants, meaning you'll have the opportunity to meet a local who can share the history of the village with you.

Next, as your next stop, we recommend visiting the Church of St. Dimitrios, located in the upper, older part of Zrnovci. This church, built in the 18th century, has been renovated several times over the years.

For those who want to explore further, there is also the Vinicko Kale, located 8 kilometers from Zrnovci, accessible via an asphalted local road. Complete your day with a visit to the restaurant Amina in Zrnovci, where you can enjoy the local flavors and ambiance.

Located by the Zrnovska River, this restaurant offers excellent specialties prepared on a traditional wood-fired grill and oven.

For those who decide to visit the restaurant, our advice is to contact the hosts for prior reservations. You can find more photos and contact information for reservations with one click HERE.
