The United Kingdom has introduced a digital travel authorization called the Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA), which applies to most travelers who do not require a traditional visa. Starting February 25, 2026, anyone traveling to the UK must have an approved ETA in advance.

This authorization is online and directly linked to your passport. It serves as pre-approval for entry into the country, and without a valid ETA, airlines and other transport providers may refuse boarding.
