Weekend Tour Proposal from Kajak.mk: Smilivo Village: History and Gastronomy in One
For history enthusiasts, for those who honor the Macedonian struggle for a free state in which future generations will live, the village of Smilivo is an ideal destination that will remind you of our past.
Time in Smilivo village seems to have stopped; all the local shops and restaurants enjoy the past, and the local residents who live here will tell you many stories from the past that you may not read anywhere else.

Smilivo village is one of the most significant places for us, as it was here that the Smilovo Congress was held, and it is also the birthplace of the great national figure Dame Gruev. Smilivo is also an ideal weekend destination. There is truly much to visit here.
If you need help organizing your itinerary, here’s a suggestion from Kajak.mk:
Start your visit by exploring the beautiful Memorial Museum, where you’ll find the memorial room for the Smilovo Congress of 1903, a room dedicated to Smilivo in the Ilinden Uprising, a memorial room for the life and revolutionary work of Dame Gruev, a memorial room for the Partisan detachment ‘Dame Gruev,’ and an ethnological room dedicated to Smilivo.

After visiting the monastery, continue your walking tour to the Memorial Park for Dame Gruev, which is set in beautiful nature and surrounded by many trees. After exploring the park, complete your tour at the local restaurant Kostenche, which stands mysteriously and proudly in Smilivo, serving guests delicious local food.
