Processing the Macedonian Ruby for Years: The Most Valuable Gem of Macedonia (part 2)

Processing the Macedonian Ruby for Years: The Most Valuable Gem of Macedonia (part 2)

With the growth of Macedonia's tourism promotion, with the discovery of Macedonia as a new, unknown destination, things started to improve. Social media played a role in this, and a significant portion of the customers for the Macedonian ruby were our expatriates who insisted on jewelry with Macedonian Ruby. This was followed by foreigners who wanted something from this trip that could not be found anywhere else. Interest grew for engagement rings with Macedonian Ruby, gifts for anniversaries, noble business or diplomatic gifts. With that, I grew, and so did the world around me. The flower for Princess Rani from the Hunza people (2008), the cross for Pope Benedict XVI (2009), the cross for Pope Francis (2015), the cross for Russian Patriarch Kirill. Daryl Hannah, Isabelle Huppert, and Juliette Binoche received a pendant with Macedonian Ruby at their participation in the Manaki Film Festival in Bitola.

The Macedonian Ruby also emerged as a strong catalyst for the revitalization of craftsmanship, especially in saving the centuries-old tradition of silver filigree making. This further strengthened its recognition, and many new young and talented individuals secured a full or partial livelihood thanks to our most precious gemstone.

The design was created both under the influence of tradition and based on the suggestions of the clients. The new generation of artists brought a fresh approach to design. However, the constant challenge remained the ability to create classical forms. Similar to music: to play classical music, you need much more self-discipline and practice. But in the rock 'n' roll sphere, you can 'get away' with three chords and live off them...

Living in Italy for 10 years taught me that we must be creative, resourceful, and hardworking. We need to be skilled craftsmen, hosts, and producers of everything and anything.
