Goran Promotes Delchevo as a New Wine Destination

Goran Promotes Delchevo as a New Wine Destination

When we talk about wineries, we often associate them with the Tikvesh region, which is quite famous for its fertile soils, grape varieties, and local producers. But have you heard of wine enthusiasts in the Delchevo region?

By the Bregalnica River, Goran Arso proudly presents his winery. As a new producer, he shares the story of his beginnings.

In addition to his love for wine, Goran gained experience from books and textbooks by authors with top-notch wine expertise, proving that every dream can become a reality. With over 300 fermentations of various fruits alongside grapes, such as raspberries, blackberries, strawberries, bananas, oranges, melons, and more, he demonstrates serious winemaking experience. Goran also ferments non-fruit materials, such as honey, creating mead (a wine made from honey).

After gaining enough experience in quality fermentation and controlling the process, Goran made a significant investment by purchasing equipment and around twenty tons of grapes for the 2023 harvest. "In this harvest, we decided to focus on a smaller number of wines so that our knowledge, work, and energy will be concentrated on fewer products, expecting higher quality and lower costs," Goran tells us.

In the 2023 harvest, Arso Winery has two wines: around 2,000 bottles of Temjanika under the name Temjanika Prima from the Tikvesh wine region, and about 8,000 bottles of Vranec under the name Skroten Vranec made from grapes from both the Tikvesh and Svetinikol wine regions. Skroten Vranec won a gold plaque at the Young Wines competition in Negotino. Temjanika Prima has not yet received any awards, but according to many, it has serious quality.
