At a time when the lack of quality and organic food is becoming increasingly evident, the story of Filip Dimkoski reminds us that solutions don’t always have to be complex — sometimes they start with a single seed, a bit of knowledge, and a lot of love for nature. Today, Kajak.mk takes you to Filip’s garden, which for us represents another inspiring story worth supporting, sharing, retelling, and building collaborations around.

Filip is an agronomist, journalist, and educator. He is the founder of “Filip’s Garden,” a place where agriculture is not seen merely as production, but as a process of learning, sharing, and creating a healthier relationship with the food we consume.

Filip works as a high school teacher of agricultural subjects, and in 2024 he launched his own online course in organic gardening — responding to the growing interest in home gardening and the lack of practical education and genuine motivation.

“There is nothing more noble than producing food, and an even greater motivation is teaching others to do the same,” says Filip.

His lessons are not based on abstract theory. On the contrary, they are built on personal experience, experiments, successes, and even failures.

“In gardening, there are no mistakes. Everything is an attempt that teaches us how to overcome certain challenges,” Filip explains.

At “Filip’s Garden,” the entire cycle is guided personally by him — from sourcing seeds, growing seedlings, sowing and planting, to watering and maintenance. It is work without pauses and without routine.

“Every day is different. I don’t have time for boredom — and I actually enjoy that,” Filip tells us.

Although physically demanding, this work gives him a sense of security and authenticity when teaching, because behind every piece of advice lies personal experience.

For Filip, the greatest reward is not his own garden, but the moment he sees someone who followed his course starting their own.

He enjoys everything he does, but especially the creation of new beginnings in other people. The support from his father, friends, and collaborators gives him extra strength to continue on this path.

Although the romantic side of food production is often highlighted, Filip realistically warns that the shortage of quality organic food is a serious and growing problem. According to him, agriculture is an ancient human skill that has been marginalized in recent decades, but will inevitably become central again.

“The modern person needs to awaken and return to nature. Every person carries the farmer’s gene within — it just needs to be awakened.”

By purchasing land and a house in 2020, Filip fulfilled his greatest childhood dream. Today, he lives in harmony with nature, full of ideas for developing the garden and new educational methods — but without rushing. Everything in its own time.

His wish is simple: to involve as many people as possible in the process of producing their own food.

“If you truly want to accomplish something — there are no excuses.”

Perhaps this story will be the inspiration you need to start — with a small garden, a few plants, or the first step toward a more sustainable way of living.
