Why did we fall in love with Trpejca?
Why did we fall in love with Trpejca?
If you’re still wondering where to spend a weekend while the last summer sun of the year shines, Kajak.mk recommends Trpejca—a place especially beautiful at this time of year. No crowds, no noise. Just peace and tranquility.
Trpejca is one of the most stunning tourist destinations in the country, often called the “Macedonian Saint-Tropez.”

It’s a quaint fishing village located 13 kilometers from the center of Ohrid, right on the road from Ohrid to St. Naum.
Here, tourism is a bit different—far from the usual crowded beaches, and unlike the tedious umbrellas and sunbeds constantly occupied by bored, sunburned tourists.

The beach is made of fine white stones and stretches for about 200 meters along the lake, whose waters here are crystal clear, reflecting the white pebbles as if some divine force, through the ages, patiently arranged them in the water. Along the beach, there are several villas with rooms for rent, owned by the incredibly hospitable locals of Trpejca.
Staying in one of these villas allows you to fully enjoy all the beauty Ohrid Lake has to offer, being just 3–4 meters away from its serene waters.
