The team at Kajak.mk is excited to finally begin a new and unique journey in search of Macedonian truffles! This time, at a price accessible for everyone, and a tour that will definitely offer you a one-of-a-kind experience in just one day.

Kajak.mk takes you to the region of Mount Peren, Staro Nagoricane, Kriva Palanka, where, through beautiful forest landscapes, you'll have the chance to socialize with our local guide and his two trained dogs, Arthur and Ava, who are of the famous Italian breed Lagotto Romagnolo, known for being the best truffle hunters.

Antonio is a young and ambitious truffle hunter who knows all the details about each type of truffle. He is well-versed in educating and informing you about the various truffles, their consumption methods, preservation, and uses. He comes from a family that has been involved in discovering various types of mushrooms for over 50 years. His love for mushrooms was passed down from his family, inspiring him to start organizing truffle hunts.

His two dogs are his everyday companions, trained to find all types of truffles throughout the year.

Anyone who decides to book such a tour should know that the uniqueness of the experience lies in enjoying a walk through nature alongside the dogs that track ahead of you. However, it’s important to understand that truffles are not always easy to find. As the elders say—if truffles were easy to find, the price of black truffles wouldn't reach as high as 600 euros per kilogram. Regardless of whether you are lucky enough to find a truffle, tastings of fresh truffles are always available during the tours.

TWO TOURS ARE AVAILABLE FOR YOU TO BOOK:

• THE FIRST TOUR IS IN THE REGION OF STARO NAGORICANE:
  The starting location is agreed upon with the guide, who will meet you on the asphalt road near Staro Nagoricane, where you can arrive with any type of vehicle. The tour begins from the asphalt road and continues into the forest, where you will hunt for truffles with the guide and the dogs. During the hunt, the guide will tell you everything about truffles, how they are found, and how the dogs are trained. After the tour, you will taste various products produced by the family, such as truffle honey, which is used as a topping for fruit salads. You will also have the opportunity to taste truffle rakija. Fresh truffle tasting is also included. This tour lasts around 4 hours.

• THE SECOND TOUR IS A FULL-DAY TOUR ON PEREN MOUNTAIN:
  The tour starts from the asphalt road, where you can arrive with any type of vehicle. The guide will meet you at the location and take you with a 4x4 off-road vehicle to a height of 700 meters on Mount Peren. You will arrive at a mountain cottage for a short break before starting the truffle hunt. After the hunt, you will return to the cottage, where a picnic lunch with local truffle specialties and rakija will be organized. After lunch, you will return to the starting location. This tour can be reserved for 2 to 4 people. If the group exceeds 4 people, transportation will be organized by returning part of the guests.
