Ten Years Ago We Lost Our Jobs, and That Inspired Us to Open Our Ethno House

Ten Years Ago We Lost Our Jobs, and That Inspired Us to Open Our Ethno House

Changes in life can be the beginning of something new that, if you dedicate yourself to it, will bring greater success. The hosts of Ethno House - Villa Elena testify to this, as they are now part of our gastronomic database, showing that you should never despair if you lose your job.

Novica and Beti from the village of Brodec, who opened their doors to travelers on Kajak, say that their ethno house started operating 10 years ago, when they lost their jobs and became unemployed.

Beti tells us that in the beginning, they were inexperienced in the business, but over time, through hard work, they managed to create a new gastronomic story that is now recognized by true gourmets.

Today, the restaurant is managed by their son Daniel, who is only 23 years old, and their daughter Elena, both of whom are well-versed in their parents' work.

Some of the specialties we recommend from the house are pita, kajmak, homemade goat cheese, goat kashkaval (cheese), roasted lamb meat, makala, and pinđuri.

Their ethno house is located in the village of Brodec, in Skopska Crna Gora. This village is a 50-minute drive from the center of Skopje and is abundant with peace and quiet.

For those who decide to visit the ethno house, the Kajak.mk team recommends visiting the waterfalls located near the village. These are the waterfalls of Tršćenski Potok, which are about 500 meters east of the village and at an altitude of 950-1100 meters. There are about ten waterfalls, each with a height of 2.5 to 5 meters, arranged in a cascading pattern, one below the other.

For those interested in visiting the waterfalls, they should know that they are easily accessible, with a trail leading to them starting from the sharp curve on the asphalt road toward Ramno, at the very exit of the Brodec weekend settlement. The two upper waterfalls can be reached in just 5 minutes of easy walking.

After exploring the waterfalls, you can end your day at the ethno house Vila Elena. If you would like to make a reservation or get in touch with the hosts, click HERE.
