Mountain Bungalows Available for Rent

Mountain Bungalows Available for Rent

After every long vacation, what you need next is a short getaway in the mountains. The Kajak.mk team takes you to different destinations in the country and beyond, aiming to provide you with all the information on where to spend your upcoming summer.

For tourists already by the lake or sea, this is the perfect opportunity to book a weekend in the mountains, and through our platform, you can connect with hosts with just one click.

We would like to introduce you to the accommodation options at the mountain lodge "Ljuboten," located at an elevation of 1,620 meters above sea level on one of Macedonia's largest mountain ranges, Shar Planina. This lodge is now part of the Kayak.mk database.

The lodge offers two types of accommodations:

- An attic that features a shared room with a total of 20 single beds

- Five bungalows, each equipped with two single beds.

The home features a shared toilet and a shower cabin.

Access is available via an off-road vehicle or by hiking along a trail that begins in the village of Staro Selo. The drive to the home takes approximately 30 minutes, while hiking the trail takes about 2 hours.

Staro Selo is situated 22 kilometers from the city of Tetovo.

The mountain lodge is situated midway along the hiking trail leading to one of the most beautiful peaks of Shar Planina: Ljuboten Peak. Standing at an altitude of 2,499 meters, Ljuboten Peak is popular for its impressive features and distinctiveness.

Additionally, Ljuboten serves as the starting point for the Western Macedonian Transversal, a trail that begins here and ends in Ohrid.

Nearby the lodge, there are several short, medium, and long tours (Livadichko Lake, Piribeg, several bachila, Kamche), and visitors can also pick the famous Ljuboten tea while walking through the forest and meadows.

The lodge is the oldest mountain lodge in Macedonia, having been built in 1931. The Ljuboten Mountaineering Club has been dedicated to renovating and reconstructing the lodge for several years, while also preserving the authenticity of the original building. This effort aims to maintain the value and tradition of the lodge, which has been in existence for 90 years.
