Inspired by Our Love for Horses, We Opened an Equestrian Club
Inspired by Our Love for Horses, We Opened an Equestrian Club
There are a million beautiful stories in Macedonia. All it takes is the courage to bring them to the surface and introduce travelers to all the possibilities they have along the way.
The team at Kajak.mk is happy to see the list of local heroes—those who do small things with great significance for the development of tourism—growing every day. Today, we’re adding to that list Linda Ilievska, a young woman who is part of the equestrian club "Proces" in Madžari—a place that heals the stress after a long workweek.
Linda says it all started more than 20 years ago. At the heart of the entire story is the love for animals—especially horses. "Once you get to know this magnificent animal and begin to understand the world of horses, you realize it’s a lifelong love," she says.
Two passionate riders, aware of the benefits of equestrian sport and the fact that it is significantly lacking in our country, decided to establish a club where they could spend quality time with their children.
Over time, interest in the sport began to grow—along with the number of members in the club.
Ilievska says there’s a special kind of joy in being able to fulfill the dream of many others by giving them the opportunity to get to know and learn more about horses. The genuine smiles and excitement of the children after riding are what have kept the club going all these years.
“It’s a pleasure and a privilege to be part of a team where horses play the central role. The time spent in nature, dedicated to the horses and the activities around them, is above all a joy—but at the same time, it’s a great commitment that carries a lot of responsibility,” she says. “The achievements of our members—whether it’s reaching a sporting result or simply mastering the basic riding skills—are a constant source of inspiration that motivates us to keep going, with the goal of bringing horses and equestrian sports closer to as many enthusiasts as possible.”
Caring for the horses is a daily commitment and involves teamwork. They need proper nutrition, fresh water, and a clean space to stay in. Horses must be regularly groomed—brushed, bathed, and have their hooves checked—not only for aesthetic reasons, but also for their health. They also need consistent training to stay prepared for the activities expected of them.
In addition to all of this, the horses receive daily love and attention from the members of our club—spending time together through walks, training, cuddles, braiding manes, and rewarding them with treats.
There are a million ways to be with and around horses. The equestrian club offers many activities you can enjoy. If you want to learn more about the options available, click HERE.
