Halkbank Donates 17,000+ Seedlings Across Macedonia in a Year

Halkbank Donates 17,000+ Seedlings Across Macedonia in a Year

As part of its environmental initiative to promote sustainability and ecological awareness, HalkEco by Halkbank AD Skopje has planted 17,000 trees since the platform’s launch in October last year.

Since the first tree-planting event on October 26, 2019, over 9,000 trees have been planted across the country, including 6,000 in Veles, 220 saplings in schoolyards in Skopje, Kumanovo, Tetovo, Gostivar, Kičevo, and Bogdanci, and 2,790 saplings in the area between Bitola and Demir Hisar.

Additionally, 8,000 trees were funded for reforestation in Sveti Nikole, using proceeds from participant fees of the country’s first timed cycling race, Halk Velo Green, held earlier this September in Mavrovo.

So far, in addition to reforestation efforts in these cities, the HalkEco platform has supported the renovation of 19 bridges in Skopje City Park, the installation of an eco-friendly bus stop in the Aerodrom neighborhood, the reconstruction of a pedestrian bridge in Kruševo, the setup of a HalkCorner in TC Leptokarija, and backing the campaign against stubble burning led by the City of Skopje.

Halkbank, as a highly socially responsible company that values people, will continue contributing to a better environment across the country, promoting healthy habits, and striving to improve society as a whole for the benefit of everyone.
