Gabriela and Predrag: Macedonians Creating Biodegradable Products – A Perfect Gift Idea

The team at kajak.mk continues its mission in 2026: to introduce you to local heroes from Macedonia who create small things with a huge impact on tourism, the local economy, and the environment. Today, we want to share the story of Gabriela and Predrag.

In Gabriela and Predrag’s small workshop, unique 3D decorations are crafted every day, bringing their vision of sustainability and creativity into the homes of their customers. Simple Design is a family business that stands apart from mass production – each piece is carefully designed and made from biodegradable materials.

“Our idea was born spontaneously, as a way to experiment with design and new technologies,” explains Gabriela. “What started as a hobby quickly grew into a small business with a clear vision – to create modern, sustainable, and unique decorations that find their place in every home.”

The first products were small series of unique 3D decorations, showcased at local markets, charity events, and eco fairs. “Every design is a challenge – it’s not easy to compete with mass production, but we believe people appreciate handmade, authentic designs,” adds Predrag.A day for the Simple Design team is a mix of creativity, organization, and patience. Much of their time is dedicated to brainstorming and refining new designs, while also overseeing the 3D printing process, which can take hours. At the same time, they respond to customer inquiries and prepare orders.

“No two days are the same. It’s exactly this variety that keeps us motivated,” they say.

The greatest joy comes when a product, from digital concept to physical item, finds its place in a customer’s home. “It’s not just a sale. It’s a confirmation that our effort, love, and sustainable approach make a difference,” explains Gabriela.

Throughout the process, their biggest support comes from family and friends, who have believed in their idea from the very beginning. Additional motivation comes from their Instagram community and other small businesses, whose encouraging messages and genuine interest reaffirm that they are on the right path.

Simple Design focuses on creating long-lasting products made from sustainable materials, using processes that generate minimal waste. They believe that 3D printing is a tool that can help reduce overproduction and promote sustainable choices among consumers.

The plans for Simple Design include expanding their offerings with new collections, experimenting with innovative materials and more complex designs, and strengthening their presence in international 3D markets. Their goal is for the brand to become synonymous with authenticity, quality, and sustainability.

“Believe in your uniqueness and don’t be afraid to start,” say Gabriela and Predrag. “Be transparent with your audience, show your process, and never compromise on quality. Authenticity is the one thing that will set you apart for the long term.”

With Simple Design, every product is more than just a decoration – it’s a small but meaningful step toward a more sustainable future.
