From an Idea to a Destination: The Story of Antiko in the Heart of Berovo

The story of Antiko begins with an idea that had been taking shape for years in the minds of Goce and Viktor and their families: to create a place of their own in Berovo. To turn that vision into reality, they needed the right space.

“The idea of creating our own place in Berovo had been growing within us for many years, but one essential piece was always missing — a suitable space where we could fully bring our vision to life,” Goce and Viktor recall.

They found the perfect space on Dimitar Berovski Square, right in the heart of Berovo. With plenty of hard work, dedication, and love, they transformed it and gave it a completely new character. And so, their idea became Antiko — a restaurant envisioned as a blend of good food and heartfelt hospitality.

For Goce and Viktor, a visit to Antiko should be about more than just a meal. Their goal is for guests to feel welcome and relaxed from the very first moment, and to leave the restaurant in good spirits, carrying with them a memory they will want to revisit.

“For us, the greatest success is when a guest leaves in good spirits, with a wonderful memory and a desire to visit us again,” they say.

The menu is inspired by the flavors that Berovo and the Maleshevo region are known for. Among the specialties are homemade Berovo sheep’s cheese, zelnik prepared in-house, and succulent roast pork. A special place on the menu is reserved for the kajmak-topped pljeskavica — a dish that has quickly become a favorite among many guests.

“It’s rich, juicy, and full of flavor, and it has become one of Antiko’s signature specialties,” Goce and Viktor share.

The homemade flavors are complemented by a selection of desserts: Grandma’s Cake, Honey Cake, and Cheesecake. Each one is prepared with care, making sure every meal ends on a sweet and comforting homemade note.
