Camping Across Macedonia: Every Adventurer is Welcome to Join Us!
Camping Across Macedonia: Every Adventurer is Welcome to Join Us!
Spring is knocking on our door, the south of Macedonia is already quite green, and the desire to jump into the water is growing. March is a month of indecision! Will it snow tomorrow, or will the sun shine brightly? But anyway, Macedonia has started to wake up from its winter slumber.
The new season ahead will definitely be in favor of adventurers, those who seek peace while traveling, those who want to avoid crowds and enjoy being isolated in untouched nature.
The new year will be the year for people like "Overland Adventures Macedonia." You can check them out on Instagram, and here you can read more about them.
The project is composed of individuals who are in love with the mountains and nature, and who have been promoting Macedonia in a unique way for more than 10 years. Their group consists of 6 members, and as they say, anyone who is up for a great adventure in Macedonia is welcome to join them.
"Overlanding" is a combination of multi-day off-road driving with jeeps and camping in nature on pre-defined routes and locations.
The goal of these tours is to visit specific places in certain regions to promote them online.
For the month of March, the group's camping suggestion is the Osogovo Mountains. They say that our country is full of natural beauty—rivers, lakes, mountains—each region is unique and has its own characteristics that leave a special impression. However, since it's still cold, they recommend camping in lower-lying areas.
They can't say how many days are ideal for camping in Macedonia, as they believe it's never enough. According to them, in order to truly experience "overlanding," one week of continuous driving and camping with pre-prepared logistics is necessary.
What you need most for this type of camping is a technically sound vehicle, first aid kit, warm clothes, sleeping bags, a tent, enough drinking water, food prepared in advance for the adventure period, various tools, and similar essentials.
For this summer, their plan is to drive across all of Macedonia along its borders. This adventure is expected to last from 10 to 12 days. Optimistically, they hope they will succeed.
